Off like a bucket of prawns in the sun
February 20th, 2019
Today’s d-day! After months of planning, weeks of waiting and days of dithering, we’re en route to Brisbane, heading to northern Vietnam a few days later and China a week after that.
Two twerps and a twerpier cat
We’re excited to be going and sad to be leaving home (what a treat to be in Auckland, Northland and the Coromandel with our families and friends for so many weeks this summer - sorry Wellington you know we love you, but the real truth is you can’t beat the tropical north on a good day…). Our current route takes us from South East Asia to mountainous southern China, to the Himalayas in Nepal, almost the entirety of the Silk Road (including the Taklamakan Desert, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia and Turkey) and a helluva lot of places in between.
We're planning to keep a record of our adventures and misadventures here: you're welcome to follow along and cringe at our overeating, gasp at our crippling lack of local language anywhere we go and critique our questionable photography skills.
